In this role, you will be responsible for transforming ideas from initial prototypes into production-ready solutions for our initial cohort of customers. You will play a pivotal role in developing comprehensive web applications and cloud-based services, leveraging modern technologies and AI-driven tools to expedite product development cycles. The ideal candidate will have a strong problem-solving mindset, capable of operating effectively in ambiguous environments, and translating complex customer needs into scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions. This role offers a primarily remote working arrangement, with occasional travel to collaborate in person with colleagues and clients.

Qualifications
- 5-8 years of professional software engineering experience with a proven track record of deploying full-stack web applications.
- Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Next.js.
- Experience with UI frameworks like Tailwind CSS or Material-UI and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2).
- Strong backend development skills, including API design, RESTful services, and authentication/authorization mechanisms.
- Hands-on experience with service frameworks (.NET, Node.js, Python), API styles (REST, GraphQL), and databases (DynamoDB, SQL, MongoDB, Redis).
- Proficiency in AWS cloud services, including deploying, monitoring, and managing serverless and containerized workloads.
- Experience with microservices architecture, API-first design, and service orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
- Experience in building AI-enabled features, especially retrieval-based grounding approaches like RAG.
- Strong understanding of software quality practices, including testing strategies, observability, and incident management.
- Excellent communication skills for technical documentation and cross-functional collaboration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
- Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end product experiences, from initial concept to production release and ongoing iteration.
- Rapidly prototype new ideas, validate their feasibility, and transition successful prototypes into scalable, secure production services.
- Develop AI-powered features focusing on retrieval, context shaping, and personalization, ensuring safety, privacy, and performance standards.
- Create and maintain API-first, versioned REST microservices that reliably expose domain capabilities across various experiences.
- Leverage AI agents and modern developer tools to accelerate development workflows, including code scaffolding, testing, and debugging.
- Document architecture decisions, API specifications, and operational procedures to establish engineering clarity and alignment.
- Implement pragmatic software quality practices such as code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, research, data science, and customer teams to translate requirements into functional software solutions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and privacy standards throughout the development lifecycle.
- Develop comprehensive test strategies, including security testing and risk assessment, to ensure robust product delivery.
- Integrate telemetry and monitoring tools to gather insights on performance, reliability, and user engagement.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support project and organizational goals.
- Competitive salary within the range of $140,000 to $180,000, based on experience and qualifications.
