About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing complex software systems that support our energy management platform. You will lead architectural design efforts for both backend and frontend components, ensuring scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions. Your expertise will help bridge the gap between our infrastructure and user interfaces, delivering seamless experiences for our customers. As a mentor and team leader, you will guide junior engineers, promote best practices, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Collaboration with cross-functional teams including product, design, and operations will be essential to drive innovative solutions and maintain high standards of quality and security across our platforms.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of industry experience developing complex software applications
- Full-stack expertise with significant experience in backend development (e.g., Python) and frontend development (e.g., TypeScript/React)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or demonstrated equivalent experience
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL
- Deep understanding of high-quality, pixel-perfect UI development
- Extensive experience designing and leading the development of complex software architectures
- Proven ability to work independently, manage large projects, and solve complex technical problems
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and mentoring skills
- Ability to scope, break down, and drive the completion of major initiatives
Bonus qualifications include experience with scalable data processing, cloud functions (AWS Lambda, GCP pub/sub), infrastructure as code (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK), server-side rendering, web accessibility, modern frontend testing frameworks, and familiarity with the electric power industry.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design of complex software systems, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability
- Build and maintain features across both backend and frontend, integrating infrastructure with user interfaces
- Mentor and guide small teams of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative engineering culture
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and operational teams to deliver high-quality solutions
- Ensure adherence to software development best practices, including code reviews, testing, and documentation
