The Quality Assurance Engineer I or II position within the Metrology and Analysis Systems Division (MAD) plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of HTA's software products, including hiRecipe, hi-Frame, and Result Viewer. This role involves developing and executing comprehensive manual and automated testing strategies to verify software functionality, performance, and compatibility across various environments. The QA Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, product managers, and customer support, to identify defects, validate fixes, and improve overall product quality. The position offers a hybrid work model with approximately 70% remote work and up to 30% travel, including potential international travel to Japan for quality review meetings.Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on software testing experience
- Proven experience in manual (functional) testing of enterprise applications and platforms
- At least 5 years of recent testing experience on Linux (preferably RHEL or CentOS)
- At least 5 years of experience with automated testing frameworks, particularly JUnit
- 3+ years of experience testing Java, J2EE, application servers (preferably JBoss), message queues, multi-threaded applications, and databases
- Experience with testing C++ software is a plus
- Experience working in startup or fast-paced environments is advantageous
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%
Responsibilities
- Verify and certify software products such as hiRecipe, hi-Frame, and Result Viewer by developing and executing manual and automated test cases
- Create traceability matrices linking test cases to use cases and primary requirements, ensuring comprehensive test coverage
- Conduct functional, regression, performance, load, sanity, and negative testing to identify and document defects
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using frameworks like JUnit, designing scalable and reusable automation frameworks
- Execute end-to-end testing processes, including smoke, system, and regression tests, to ensure software stability and quality
- Analyze abnormal measurement values on CD-SEM software, troubleshoot issues, and validate software upgrades for compatibility and performance
- Prepare detailed test reports, documentation, and training materials for internal teams and customers
- Collaborate with design, QA, and international teams to review technical documents and validate software against specifications
- Support customer inquiries by providing first-line technical assistance and troubleshooting guidance
- Participate in quality review meetings at the Naka factory in Japan and contribute to continuous process improvements
