About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Java Developer to join our dynamic team remotely from anywhere within the United States. In this senior role, you will be responsible for architecting, designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade web applications and distributed systems that operate at significant scale across multiple business domains. You will oversee the entire engineering lifecycle, translating complex business requirements into robust technical solutions, writing high-quality production code, deploying cloud-native services, and supporting them throughout their operational lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Java and the Spring ecosystem, complemented by experience building responsive front-end applications using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, architects, DevOps engineers, and fellow developers in an Agile environment to deliver secure, high-performance applications aligned with strategic business goals.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 6 years of professional software development experience
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles
- Proficiency in Java (versions 11 and 17) and the Spring Boot framework
- Hands-on experience designing and operating microservices architectures
- Experience developing front-end applications using React, Angular, or Vue
- Solid SQL skills with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server
- Experience with CI/CD tools and Git-based workflows
- Deployment experience on major cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills
- Design, develop, and refine scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot, ensuring they are independently deployable and aligned with enterprise architecture standards
- Write secure, well-tested, and high-quality production code following internal standards and security best practices
- Develop responsive, component-based front-end applications using React or equivalent frameworks, focusing on user experience and accessibility
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and event-driven integrations for distributed backend systems, establishing clear contracts and versioning strategies
- Participate in architecture and design discussions, providing insights on scalability, resiliency, maintainability, and cost-efficiency
- Optimize application performance through profiling, database query tuning, JVM tuning, and API throughput improvements
- Implement and maintain robust front-end state management patterns for complex applications
- Develop comprehensive automated tests including unit, integration, and functional tests using frameworks like JUnit, Mockito, Jest, and Cypress
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline design and deployment automation to enable rapid, safe releases across environments
- Identify system bottlenecks and technical debt, leading remediation efforts through refactoring and technical documentation
- Collaborate effectively within Agile teams, participating in sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives
- Maintain detailed technical documentation including architecture diagrams, API specifications, and deployment guides
