The Human Resource Representative serves as a vital point of contact within the HR Services team, primarily responsible for supporting talent acquisition activities, conducting background checks, and providing exceptional customer service to store management, field leaders, and corporate teams. This role involves evaluating criminal convictions during the background check process, offering hiring recommendations, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies. The HR Representative will manage a high volume of inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, payroll, and onboarding, ensuring timely and accurate responses. Additionally, the role requires close collaboration with external background check vendors, legal teams, and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth and compliant hiring processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. - Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred
- 1-3 years of administrative or HR support experience
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word and Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and legal guidelines related to background checks
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
- Experience with case management or HR systems is a plus
- Ability to interpret and apply legal and procedural guidelines accurately
Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary contact for HR services, responding to inquiries from store management, field leaders, and corporate teams
- Coordinate and support talent acquisition activities, including posting jobs, scheduling interviews, and onboarding new hires
- Manage background check processes, including validation of credentials, research, and adjudication in compliance with applicable laws
- Research and resolve "needs review" background checks, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Partner with background check vendors and legal teams to resolve issues and improve processes
- Maintain accurate records of background check statuses and outcomes within the HR case management system
- Respond to routine HR inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and policies, providing first-call resolution when possible
- Log and track all inquiries, escalations, and case resolutions, ensuring timely responses
- Identify critical or high-risk cases and escalate promptly to appropriate stakeholders
- Develop and maintain knowledge of current background check laws and company policies
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned by management
- Continuously seek to improve customer service delivery and operational efficiency
