About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Software Engineer, Full Stack - Shopping, to join our remote team. In this role, you will lead a diverse portfolio of technology projects, guiding a team of experienced developers to build scalable, robust, and innovative cloud-based solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving a major transformation within Capital One Shopping, particularly in creating solutions that meet regulatory requirements and enhance customer experiences. You will collaborate closely with digital product managers and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful technology solutions that empower millions of users. The ideal candidate will have a passion for emerging technologies, a strong background in full stack development, and experience leading technical teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional software engineering experience (internship experience not applicable)
  • At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Preferred: Master's Degree
  • 7+ years of experience in at least one of the following programming languages: JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud services like AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • 4+ years of experience working with open source frameworks
  • 1+ years of people management experience
  • 2+ years of experience practicing Agile methodologies
  • Experience leveraging AI tooling to accelerate development productivity

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of developers and oversee a portfolio of technology projects focused on full stack and microservices architecture
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-based solutions that adhere to regulatory standards and enhance user experience
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliver innovative solutions
  • Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Stay current with emerging technology trends and experiment with new tools and frameworks to improve development processes
  • Participate in code reviews, ensure best practices, and maintain high-quality code standards
  • Utilize a variety of programming languages including JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go
  • Manage cloud infrastructure using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services to ensure reliability and scalability
  • Contribute to strategic planning and technical decision-making for ongoing projects
