About The Role

As a Staff Software Engineer, Front End, you will assume a pivotal technical leadership role within our engineering team. Your primary responsibility will be to steer the architectural direction of our most ambitious large-scale UI initiatives, ensuring scalable, maintainable, and innovative front-end solutions. You will lead the design and implementation of complex user interfaces that meet real-world healthcare challenges, emphasizing a customer-first approach while maintaining long-term technical health. A key aspect of this role involves pioneering the integration of artificial intelligence into our products, shaping intelligent user experiences that will define the next chapter of our platform. You will collaborate closely with product management, design, and backend teams to deliver high-impact solutions and foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of software development experience, including building production-grade web applications using React, Vue, Angular, or Material UI
  • Proficiency in utilizing REST/GraphQL APIs effectively, with the ability to influence API design
  • Deep knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS, NodeJS, and associated tooling ecosystems (NPM, Yarn, Babel, Jest, Cypress)
  • Understanding of static generation, server-side rendering, and client-side rendering tradeoffs
  • Strong fundamentals in data structures, caching strategies, and asynchronous programming (promises, futures, callbacks)
  • Experience with monorepo environments and micro-frontend architecture
  • Proven track record of leading and delivering large-scale projects from conception to production, including post-launch support
  • Experience working with large language models (LLMs), AI-driven user experiences, or agentic workflows
  • Ability to undertake less-glamorous but essential engineering tasks to support business goals
  • Constructively dissatisfied with the status quo and eager to innovate
  • Comfortable working on ambiguous problems with evolving requirements
  • Experience in building and mentoring engineering teams
  • Strong communication skills to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to partner with product management to develop clear requirements and technical strategies
  • Skilled in recognizing project risks and opportunities, making build vs. buy decisions, and tailoring technical solutions to business needs
  • Familiarity with query and analytical tools such as SQL, Google Analytics, and FullStory

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive end-to-end product development, from problem definition aligned with OKRs to design, implementation, deployment, and ongoing operation
  • Act as a key technical partner for product management, co-owning the roadmap and surfacing engineering-led opportunities and risks
  • Rapidly formulate hypotheses based on data, iterate quickly, and implement impactful solutions
  • Architect and develop reusable frameworks and components to enhance team productivity
  • Invest in and strengthen the technical foundation to accelerate shipping cycles and improve product quality
  • Champion the integration of AI tools, such as coding assistants, to enhance development velocity, code quality, and testing efficiency
  • Lead technical discussions, present options, and make informed decisions to balance technical excellence with business needs
  • Mentor and guide engineering team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop clear, actionable requirements and technical specifications
  • Recognize and mitigate project risks while identifying new opportunities for innovation
