About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Product Data Analyst to join the Engine X team. Engine X is our flagship corporate charge card product, built on Engine’s proprietary supply relationships, pricing intelligence, and travel infrastructure. As a core component of our business, data plays a vital role in driving decision-making and optimizing product performance. In this role, you will serve as the analytical execution layer, responsible for ensuring the accuracy, structure, and timeliness of data outputs related to card transactions, rewards activity, activation events, spend categories, and booking behaviors. Your expertise will enable product managers, finance teams, and leadership to make informed decisions confidently. You will develop and maintain dashboards, perform data investigations, support product experiments, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold data quality and integrity. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in data analytics or a closely related analytical function.
- Proficiency in SQL, with experience writing complex queries involving joins, aggregations, and window functions on large datasets, preferably with Snowflake.
- Experience building and maintaining dashboards or reporting frameworks using BI tools such as HEX, Looker, Tableau, or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and ownership over data accuracy and quality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with A/B testing and experimental analysis, including statistical reasoning.
- Curiosity about product and business context, with a desire to understand the underlying reasons behind data metrics.
- Experience in fintech, payments, card products, or financial services analytics is a plus.
- Familiarity with dbt or collaboration with analytics engineering teams is advantageous.
- Build, maintain, and enhance core performance dashboards tracking key metrics such as activation rates, spend volume, booking value, rewards utilization, and retention.
- Regularly track and report on Engine X metrics, providing stakeholders with accurate and timely insights into product performance.
- Investigate data anomalies, diagnose issues, document findings, and communicate insights proactively to prevent misunderstandings or misinterpretations.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, clean, and aggregate data from Snowflake, covering transaction logs, booking data, rewards ledgers, and activation events.
- Develop and document reusable data models and reporting assets that are well-structured, clearly named, and sustainable beyond individual projects.
- Support A/B testing and product experiments by establishing analytical frameworks, accurately pulling results, and presenting insights to inform decision-making.
- Partner with senior analysts and product managers to understand analytical requests, scope projects, and deliver precise, actionable insights.
- Collaborate with analytics and data engineering teams to identify and resolve data quality issues, validate pipeline outputs, and ensure reliable data sources.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for metrics, models, definitions, logic, known limitations, and refresh schedules to ensure clarity and consistency across teams.
