About The Role
The Clinical Data Analyst at Actalent plays a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining clinical data systems that underpin high-quality clinical trials and advanced analytics. This position involves developing study-specific documentation, programming SAS-based data validations, and creating efficient ETL/ELT workflows to manage both structured and unstructured data. The analyst collaborates closely with biostatistics, data science, and other stakeholders to ensure data integrity, security, and quality throughout the data lifecycle. Additionally, this role supports the development, validation, and deployment of AI/ML models by providing robust data infrastructure and insights. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SAS programming, database management, and data visualization tools, enabling seamless integration and analysis of complex datasets to facilitate innovative healthcare solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Proficiency in SAS programming, including SAS Base and related components used for data management, analysis, and reporting.
- Strong experience developing and executing SAS edit checks and macros for clinical trial data.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
- Practical database administration skills, including managing data sources and troubleshooting data issues.
- Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases.
- Experience working with REST APIs, including establishing and managing Web REST API connections.
- Familiarity with SDLC and experience in coding, testing, and designing data solutions.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI and R Shiny.
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts and supporting AI/ML model pipelines.
- Knowledge of R, HTML, JavaScript, and other scripting languages used in data analysis and presentation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop study-specific annotated case report forms (CRFs), database documentation, edit check specifications, data handling conventions, and data entry instructions to support clinical trials.
- Program SAS edit checks and macros for data validation, ETL processes, statistical analyses, and report generation.
- Design and develop robust ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data to ensure efficient data ingestion, transformation, and loading.
- Manage structured and unstructured data sources, identify root causes of data issues, and implement timely resolutions.
- Conduct data automation tasks, including software development, testing, and validation, to streamline workflows.
- Utilize tools such as Power BI, R, HTML, JavaScript, and REST APIs for data extraction, visualization, and reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with biostatistics, data science, and analytics teams to support AI/ML model development, validation, and deployment.
- Build and optimize data systems for performance, scalability, and reliability across various platforms.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the entire data lifecycle.
- Apply SDLC principles to design, code, test, and maintain data-related applications and tools.
- Develop comprehensive documentation for data architecture, workflows, and processes to facilitate transparency and reproducibility.
- Establish and maintain REST API connections to integrate external data sources and automate data workflows.
- Perform data entry and management tasks as required to support clinical trial operations and reporting.
