Job Title: Cloud Systems Engineer
Suncoast Credit Union is seeking a skilled Cloud Systems Engineer to join our IT team. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure, focusing on identifying and resolving technical issues, and implementing improvements to enhance system performance and efficiency. You will be responsible for building and maintaining efficient, secure, and scalable cloud-based solutions under the guidance of a Cloud Architect. This position involves close collaboration with other IT professionals, including network engineers, software developers, and database administrators, to ensure our computer systems operate effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance, maintain, and administer current physical and virtual server infrastructure systems.
- Deploy efficient, secure, and scalable cloud-based infrastructure.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure solutions meet organizational needs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud-based infrastructure and applications.
- Deploy servers, storage, and network resources using tools like Microsoft Azure Pipelines and Azure DevOps.
- Create and maintain documentation for computer systems, configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Collaborate with vendors for successful installation and maintenance of projects.
- Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and new technology to recommend and implement effective solutions.
- Monitor and evaluate computer system performance, adjusting for optimal performance.
- Implement and manage security measures, including access control, data protection, and regulatory compliance.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and patching during business hours.
- Participate in the IT Division’s regular on-call rotation.
- Attend educational events to enhance professional knowledge.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training).
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure and platform environments, including clustering, load balancing, and high availability configuration.
- 5+ years of experience in system engineering or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as MCSE (latest or previous generation of Microsoft Windows) and Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate are required.
- Experience with Azure CLI, Azure portal, and Azure Resource Manager templates.
- AZ104 or AZ400 Microsoft Azure Administrator certifications are preferred.
- Experience with core Azure services, Azure workloads, security, and governance is preferred.
- Knowledge of automation tools such as Terraform, Puppet, or Chef.
- Proficiency with programming languages such as Python, Java, and/or Ruby.
- Experience with scripting languages, using PowerShell or Bash.
- Ability to plan, deploy, and manage IT projects.
- Understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with networking concepts including routing, switching, and security.
- Knowledge of best practices for system and cloud security.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Knowledge in VMware, Active Directory, Citrix Xen App, Infoblox (DNS), SAN replication, and Microsoft Exchange/O365 is a plus.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines.
