Role Overview - Chemist III

The Chemist III supports the analytical laboratory by analyzing pigment and related samples, developing new methods, and ensuring accurate data reporting. Reporting to the lab manager, the role involves planning daily and weekly activities and advising on analytical techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing, documenting, and reporting physical analysis of pigment samples.
  • Developing and statistically validating new analytical methods.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to enhance analytical processes.
  • Maintaining, troubleshooting, and calibrating lab instruments per ISO 9001.
  • Adhering to EH&S and laboratory safety procedures.
  • Guiding peers in analytical chemistry and instrument operation.

Required Education & Experience

A PhD in Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, or Materials Science is required along with experience in microscopy, X-Ray diffraction, surface analysis and proficiency in DOE software and Minitab.
