Senior Software Engineer - Data Platform at SumUp
Join the Data Platform team at SumUp and play a pivotal role in supporting our next generation of data products, AI, and real-time analytics initiatives. We are dedicated to building an AI-ready, self-serve, and scalable infrastructure, essential for enabling cutting-edge data science and operational squads. Your work will directly ensure our platform's reliability, security, and high performance.
What You'll Do
- Design and maintain best-in-class data infrastructure to support critical processes.
- Develop automations that improve the reliability, scalability, and security of the platform.
- Implement observability and monitoring systems integrated with incident management tools.
- Optimize compute resources and processes to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Set up initial infrastructure for real-time analytics and AI use-cases.
What Makes You Great for This Role
- Over 6 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Software Engineering, with a strong focus on data batch and streaming infrastructure.
- Proficiency with Terraform and Kubernetes.
- Solid command of programming languages like Go or Python.
- Experience maintaining business-critical, high-traffic infrastructure and services.
- Familiarity with the Data Engineering stack, including Spark, Airflow, Kafka, and Trino.
- A product-centric approach, driven by end-user experience.
- Experience with End2End, load, and testing practices.
