Overview

The Equipment Operator II - Jefferson at Summit Materials is responsible for the safe handling, loading and storage of aggregate materials, along with general plant housekeeping as assigned by the Plant Manager.

The daily work schedule can include up to 8+ hour days with overtime (voluntary or mandatory) during the week, on Saturdays and occasionally on Sundays based on business requirements.

Equipment & Tasks

Work safely with various tools and equipment such as brooms, mops, picks, shovels, garden hoe, sledgehammer, rubber hammer, electric chipping hammer, air hammer, welder and other hand and power tools. You will:

• Operate a front-end loader to transport and load aggregate materials.
• Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance on equipment.
• Operate the radial stacker conveyor to manage material fill levels.

Additional Duties

The role also includes:

• Verifying aggregate stockpiles and ensuring an adequate supply.
• Assisting with plant maintenance like welding and greasing.
• Reporting equipment issues to the Plant Manager.
• Maintaining cleanliness in mixer truck wash areas and general yard upkeep.
