About the Role

Stryker is looking for a talented R&D Co-Op Student to join its Cork office for the 2026 Cooperative cohort. In this role, you will work on technical tasks in planning and design of medical devices, supporting the R&D New Product Development Teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in design, development, modification, and verification of software for medical devices.
  • Prototype, bench test, and conduct research under supervision.
  • Support root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts.
  • Create and refine engineering documentation per design control procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management) to ensure project success.

What You Will Need

Currently studying or completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Software or Electronic Engineering, Robotics or related fields. Demonstrated understanding of embedded software engineering practices using Embedded C and C++ (Python desirable) is required. Familiarity with MS Office and a willingness to learn tools for PCB design and testing will be an asset.
