About The Team

The Specialist Solutions Architects (SSA) team consists of domain experts focused on Stripe solutions and customer buying centers. They advise on complex opportunities, support pipeline development and revenue attainment, and provide critical insights to both the product and engineering teams.

What You’ll Do

As a Specialist Solutions Architect, Payments at Stripe, you will collaborate with sales and pre-sales teams to drive pipeline and revenue targets. You will engage with senior customer business leaders, develop deep relationships, and help Stripe shape its solution offerings. Key responsibilities include running customer workshops, creating reusable assets, and coaching teams on complex, high-value opportunities.

  • Drive customer financial infrastructure transformations.
  • Design and deploy payment architectures for B2B and B2C enterprises.
  • Create strategy and architectural guidance for payments optimization.
  • Advise on integrating Stripe solutions into existing systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and conduct discovery workshops.

Responsibilities

Lead customer teams to visualize, strategize, and implement Stripe solutions. Partner with customers to embed Stripe Payments into platforms, simplify processes, reduce costs, and mitigate risks. Create architecture diagrams and run discovery workshops, while also guiding change management efforts and capturing market share. Travel up to 25% is expected for in-person collaborations.

Minimum Requirements

  • 7+ years in payments or fintech.
  • Knowledge of ISO payment standards.
  • Experience designing payment flows and architectures.
  • Understanding of global payment methods and integration with core banking systems.
  • Ability to present persuasively to senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Stripe or other RESTful APIs integration.
  • Expertise in online/in-person payments and subscriptions.
  • Subject matter expertise within a relevant industry.

In-office Expectations

Stripe has specific in-office expectations based on location and role. For example, employees at the Bucharest site are expected to be in-office 80% of the time, while roles in Mexico City and Bengaluru require 100% office presence. These expectations vary and will be discussed with the hiring manager.

Pay and Benefits

The annual US base salary range for this role is $200,000 - $300,000. In addition to base salary, the compensation may include equity, bonus structures, and benefits such as 401(k), medical, dental, and vision plans, as well as wellness stipends.
