The Solutions Architecture Team collaborates closely with users to unlock their full potential by adopting prescriptive solutions that drive growth and success. This team influences revenue across Stripe’s product portfolio and works alongside sales, support, product management, and executive teams to provide superior experiences for our most valued customers.
Role Overview
As a Solution Architect, Enterprise, you will build highly consultative, trusted relationships with C-level executives and technical decision-makers within customer organizations. You will provide business and technical thought leadership, becoming a trusted advisor in solving mission-critical business challenges and architecting business models to drive new monetization opportunities and growth for both the user and Stripe.
Key Responsibilities
- Be a core member of a Stripe account team, deeply involved in defining customer strategy.
- Identify and close new complex opportunities, accelerating solution adoption.
- Understand and align with customer product and business roadmaps to uncover growth opportunities with Stripe.
- Drive thought leadership and act as a trusted advisor for key business and technical stakeholders, including CIO, CTO, COO, CRO, CDO, Head of Product Engineering, and Head of Payments.
- Deeply understand customer business objectives, then design and apply Stripe’s solutions to their challenges.
- Develop and articulate the end-to-end customer transformation journey, creating future roadmaps and architectures with complex 3rd-party integrations.
- Conduct business analysis and background research on customers, industries, and competitors to support user business growth.
- Lead strategic engagements, designing solutions and securing technical wins through discovery, executive briefings, workshops, and solution demos.
- Expand Stripe’s footprint within existing accounts globally by introducing new capabilities and local payment methods.
- Act as the “Voice of the Customer,” sharing insights, trends, and opportunities with leadership, product, and engineering teams.
- Participate in sales forecasting, Quarterly Business Reviews, and account/territory planning.
- Anticipate approximately 25% travel for in-person collaboration with users and internal teams.
Candidate Profile
You are an experienced enterprise architect, senior solution architect, or principal solution engineer with a proven track record advising enterprise-grade digital native / SaaS / Platform / Marketplace companies. Your focus has been on identifying business priorities, formulating technology strategies, and designing end-to-end business solutions. You possess deep technical acumen, strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and have demonstrated the ability to become a trusted advisor to senior executives, facilitating customer success throughout their journey. You are a strategic and creative thinker who proactively identifies challenges, takes ownership, and maintains a positive approach.
Minimum Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in a similar customer-facing engineering role (e.g., solution consultant, solutions architect, sales engineer) for a global software enterprise.
- Experience in the payments, billing, invoicing, issuing, banking, or Fintech space.
- Executive engagement skills and presence, with an ability to establish strong relationships and build credibility at all levels.
- Effective group-facilitation skills and confidence in leading customer meetings to gain strategic footing.
- Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle and API architectures.
- Outstanding spoken and written English communication skills, with strong presentation abilities.
- Ability to operate independently in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
- Passion for ownership and driving change in an evolving landscape.
- Ability to travel as business needs dictate.
Preferred Requirements
- Prior experience in consulting.
- Experience at a growth-stage internet/software company.
Hybrid Work at Stripe
This role supports either in-office or remote work (35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office). Office-assigned Stripes are expected to spend at least 50% of their time in the local office or with users each month. Remote Stripes are welcome to visit offices for meetings but are expected to work primarily from home. Stripe does not cover relocation costs for remote roles.
Pay and Benefits
The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is €104,700 - €157,100 (OTE for sales roles). This range may vary by location and career level, and will be narrowed during the interview process based on experience and qualifications. Benefits may include equity, company bonuses, retirement plans, health benefits, and wellness stipends.
