What You'll Do as Product Manager, Cards Pricing
As a Product Manager, Cards Pricing at Stripe, you will be responsible for defining and executing pricing strategies for Card payment products globally. This role demands balancing customer needs with a competitive landscape, while ensuring Stripe maintains healthy margins.
You will collaborate closely with engineering, design, analytics, operations, and customer-facing teams to build innovative payment products. This is a strategically critical role with significant exposure to Stripe’s leadership, driving initiatives to create observability into Stripe’s margins and revenue realization on Cards, defining pricing principles, and streamlining pricing operations.
Your day-to-day will involve:
- Leading Card pricing initiatives: defining principles, driving decisions, and operationalizing them with pricing, finance, marketing, and GTM teams.
- Working with engineering and data science to build observability into current pricing, margin, and revenue realization.
- Driving insights from data and translating them into actionable pricing recommendations.
- Defining processes for competitive analysis and regular pricing audits, with a long-term goal to automate pricing processes with engineering and data science.
- Identifying new pricing models by understanding customer needs and monitoring competitors, building business cases, testing, and implementing validated models.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with Engineering, Design, Data Science, GTM, Pricing, Marketing, other PMs, and Operations to ensure flawless execution of product and pricing initiatives.
- Becoming the primary expert and point of contact across Stripe for all matters related to card pricing and Go-to-Market processes.
Who You Are
We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in product management and pricing, possessing the ability to thrive in a highly collaborative and data-driven environment.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a product role.
- 3+ years of experience specifically in Pricing.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with engineering, product, data science, and cross-functional teams.
- Experience working with go-to-market teams in a B2B sales environment.
- Strong analytical skills: ability to deeply analyze data, derive insights, and make data-driven decisions.
- Proven track record of instrumenting and measuring product initiatives, even those with less obvious metrics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for simplifying complex concepts.
- Success in delivering continuous product improvement and executing 0->1 launches.
- Possession of an ownership mindset and persistence to ensure product success.
- Proven ability to deliver high-impact presentations to executive audiences.
- Ability to thrive with a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Payments, working with Card Networks or Banking partners.
- Experience working with ML, data science, and data analyst teams; SQL proficiency is a plus.
- Experience managing and growing platform products.
- Experience overseeing operational processes or managing operational teams.
Hybrid Work at Stripe
This role supports either in-office presence or a remote location (35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).
- In-office expectations: Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in their local office or with users each month.
- Working remotely at Stripe: For remote roles, you would regularly work from home. Relocation costs to a remote location are not covered by Stripe.
Pay and Benefits
The annual US base salary range for this role is $146,400 - $268,000, which will be narrowed based on experience, qualifications, and location during the interview process. Additional benefits may include equity, company bonus, 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision benefits, and wellness stipends.
