About The Team

The Product Design team at Stripe works collaboratively to define, create, and deliver all user-facing aspects of the Stripe brand and product. Product Designers act as strategic partners to Engineering and Product Management, shaping user experiences within dedicated product areas. They translate strategic thinking into complete, testable, and refined experiences, focusing on creating beautiful and well-functioning products that users love and recommend.

The Stripe Dashboard simplifies complex tasks for millions of global businesses, serving Startups, SMBs, Enterprises, and major platforms. The design emphasizes configurable, customizable, and extensible experiences due to its broad user base, prioritizing user-friendly and user-focused solutions.

What you'll do as a Product Designer, Issuing

As part of the Money Management Design team, you will spearhead product development to build a best-in-class card issuance system. Your role involves leading efforts to create intuitive interfaces and workflows for businesses to establish, customize, and manage spend and credit cards. You will explore emerging trends such as virtual cards, real-time controls, and embedded finance, designing robust solutions for users.

You will partner with product and engineering to deliver high-quality experiences for merchants within the Stripe dashboard and for their customers, contractors, and vendors interacting with Stripe. This position requires utilizing a broad range of product design skills, including user interface design, user experience/interaction design, and prototyping. You will be responsible for deeply understanding user needs and product strategy to design and advocate for the highest quality product experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end product design process, from discovery through delivery.
• Ship meaningful, high-quality experiences that balance business needs with usability.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and other stakeholders to shape the team’s roadmap and goals, focusing on impactful and measurable customer outcomes.
• Leverage insights from the UXR team to identify opportunity areas and validate potential solutions to pain points.
• Partner with content design to craft compelling experiences that deliver the right information at the right time to the right user.
• Deliver from your strengths—whether that’s workshops, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, final comps and specs, or code—and seize opportunities to sharpen new skills.
• Work closely with other product designers to drive holistic solutions for merchants and their users.
• Participate in design reviews and regularly share your work with design and company leadership.

Who you are

We are seeking candidates who meet the following minimum requirements. Preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a strict requirement.

Minimum Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant design experience at a tech, product-driven company.
• Experience working with and leading changes to an established design system.
• Experience collaborating with engineering to support UI development.
• Autonomously led large-scale initiatives, such as system unification or highly visible features.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, operating as a co-lead with product management and engineering decision-makers.
• Strong skills in visual design, interaction design, and prototyping.
• Comfortable managing multiple projects at different paces.
• Proficient in using tools like prototypes, journey maps, and UX flows to articulate progress, rationale, and decisions.
• Able to effectively manage and prioritize time.
