About The Team

The Managed Operations team builds products that allow merchants to offload payments operations and customer support to Stripe, enabling them to focus on their core products.

What You’ll Do

As an early hire on the Managed Operations team, you will act as a founding engineer inside Stripe. You will collaborate with peer teams and cross-functional partners to shape product vision, build robust systems from scratch, and work directly with early adopters to onboard and gather feedback.

  • Drive projects from problem statement to implementation.
  • Build full-stack solutions using Ruby, TypeScript, AWS, and LLMs.
  • Develop APIs and services integrated with Stripe’s ecosystem.
  • Partner with various teams to leverage existing infrastructure.
  • Establish engineering best practices for the new product line.

Who You Are

You possess 2-10+ years of full-stack development experience with a strong background in React and languages such as Ruby, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Java. You excel in navigating complex codebases and possess superb communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A customer-centric approach and the ability to unblock and progress rapidly are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at early-stage startups or building new products from scratch.
  • Background in customer support systems or operations automation.
  • Proven technical leadership on ambiguous, impactful projects.

In-Office Expectations

Office-assigned Stripes are expected to spend at least 50% of their time in their local office. Specific expectations vary by location, with some locations requiring higher in-office attendance.

Pay and Benefits

The annual US base salary range for this role is $187,500 - $281,300. Benefits may include equity, bonuses, a 401(k) plan, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage along with wellness stipends.
