About The Team

The Web Presence and Platform team at Stripe is divided into two pillars: Presence, which designs industry-leading front-door surfaces and educates customers; and Platform, which builds the internal machinery for fast, stable, and easily updatable websites. Together, we create stripe.com and other sites, making a major impact as the first impression of Stripe for many users. We focus on making every pixel count, being enthralling, and enabling other Stripes to benefit from our systematic work.

What You'll Do as a Frontend Engineer, Expansion

The Expansion pod within the team focuses on attracting new prospects and driving conversion through creativity and executional rigor. This involves reimagining user experience moments in acquisition journeys, building delightful and original interactive tools and resources, and creating targeted experiences for our global users. You will collaborate deeply across design, engineering, and cross-functional teams, working across various tech stacks to develop new site capabilities. Your role will enable prospective clients to self-select into the right Stripe product lines, bring partners into the authoring process while maintaining high quality, and directly impact Stripe’s success by combining data-driven rigor with a commitment to craft.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with other engineers, fostering a culture of excellence through pairing and mentoring.
• Build beautiful, best-in-class end-user experiences that solve complex problems.
• Utilize, maintain, and extend our existing design systems.
• Integrate our web platform with self-serve authoring and experimentation tools.

Minimum Requirements

• 2+ years of relevant web front-end development or creative technology experience at a tech-forward, product-driven company.
• Demonstrated experience writing clear, elegant code within a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A strong passion for engineering solutions focused on growth hacking and enablement.

Preferred Qualifications

• A solid understanding of formal design elements, including typography, layout, balance, and proportion, beyond just web design.
• Experience in building highly complex interactive tools, including expertise in state management and data fetching.
• Proficiency with React, with a particular focus on interactions, animation, performance, and polish.
• Experience with A/B testing, synthetic monitoring, or accessibility testing.

Hybrid Work at Stripe

This role supports either in-office or remote work (35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).

In-office expectations: Office-assigned Stripes are expected to spend at least 50% of their time in a given month in their local office or with users. This balances in-person collaboration and learning with individual and team flexibility.

Working remotely at Stripe: Remote work is defined as living 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from a Stripe office. While you are welcome to visit the office for meetings or events, the expectation is regular work from home. Stripe does not cover relocation costs for remote roles, so applicants should apply for roles matching their current or planned location.

Pay and Benefits

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is €80,000 - €120,000. This range may vary based on location and will be refined during the interview process based on experience, qualifications, and specific location. Benefits may include equity, company bonuses, retirement plans, health benefits, and wellness stipends, which will be discussed further during the interview process.
