The Fraud Risk Strategy Team at Stripe is focused on minimizing financial losses from fraud attacks. They design strategies to reduce risk while preserving a healthy payments ecosystem and ensuring positive user experiences.
What You’ll Do as a Fraud Strategist
As a Fraud Strategist on the Merchant Fraud team, you will work to decrease losses from fraudsters, enable safer payments, and manage payment risks intelligently. You will tackle complex, dynamic challenges, employing both data analysis and strategic interventions.
Responsibilities
- Analyze accounts and transactions to predict and identify risky behavior.
- Scale risk processes and design strategies, from ML model features to manual review workflows.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Data Science, and Operations on risk mitigation solutions.
- Educate Stripe users to prevent potential risks and balance enforcement with user experience.
- Challenge conventional payment norms to foster innovative business growth.
Who You Are
You have 8+ years of relevant experience, a passion for risk prevention, strong analytical and SQL skills, and proven project management and communication abilities. You are decisive, empathetic to startup challenges, and collaborative across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced SQL expertise.
- Proficiency with quantitative tools like Python, R, or Stata.
- Experience with payments, risk, or trust & safety domains.
- Experience in fast-paced startup environments and cross-functional teamwork.
Work Arrangement
This role offers hybrid options. You can work in the office or remotely if you are located 35+ miles from a Stripe office. Office-assigned employees are expected to spend at least 50% of their time in the local office.
Benefits and Compensation
The annual US base salary range is $163,300 - $244,900, with additional benefits including equity, bonuses, 401(k), and comprehensive medical benefits.
