About The Team
The Fraud Risk Strategy Team is committed to minimizing financial losses from fraud attacks. They build and implement strategies to reduce risk, preserve a healthy payments ecosystem, and create positive user experiences.
What You’ll Do
As a Fraud Strategist on the Merchant Fraud team, you will be responsible for decreasing losses from fraudsters. You will enable safer payments and intelligently manage payment risks at Stripe. You will face complex, dynamic challenges and help design strategies ranging from machine learning model features to manual review workflows.
- Analyze accounts and transactions to predict risky behavior.
- Scale risk processes across a complex payments landscape.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Data Science, and Operations.
- Educate Stripe users to prevent business risks.
- Challenge industry norms to support innovative online businesses.
Who You Are
You are a data-driven professional passionate about risk prevention with strong analytical skills. Having at least 8 years of relevant experience, you excel in SQL, quantitative analysis, communication, and project management. Your decisiveness, curiosity, and ability to work across teams make you the right fit.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in SQL and quantitative tools (Python, R, or Stata).
- Experience with payments, risk, or trust & safety.
- Collaboration with Engineering, Operations, and Data Science teams.
- Experience in fast-paced start-up environments.
Work Arrangement
This role offers hybrid work options, either in-office or remote (35+ miles from a Stripe office). Office-assigned employees are expected to spend at least 50% of their time in the local office.
Pay and Benefits
The annual US base salary range is $163,300 - $244,900. Additional benefits may include equity, bonuses, a 401(k) plan, and various health and wellness benefits.
