Job Description

Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform powering millions of businesses globally. We enable companies of all sizes to accept payments, grow revenue, and pursue new opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

Stripe operates at the intersection of technology and the financial services industry, so you will need to be comfortable straddling both of those worlds every day. The right person for this role will thrive by seeking creative solutions to traditional problems, and enable the business responsibly while moving with urgency and focus.

About The Team

FinCRO PMO is a regulatory project management team committed to execution. We proactively manage risk by driving cross functional regulatory change, delivering risk management mitigation projects and enabling safe expansion into regulated markets. We foster a collaborative and transparent environment, leading to successful cross functional engagement.

What you’ll do

As a FinCRO PMO Program Manager, you will develop and manage processes that help us execute on a global scale. You’ll collaborate with a wide range of cross functional partners across 1LOD and 2LOD to deliver change programs including regulatory change initiatives, geographic expansion projects and control enhancement programs with impact. The ideal candidate can distil complexity into clarity, and drive impact and velocity across teams. They are curious, driven, focused, and detail-oriented, able to influence without authority, relentless in driving to closure, and able to build strong relationships. They are strategic in approach and thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver critical regulatory change projects across all of Stripe’s regulated regions globally, navigating varying local requirements.
  • Deliver and manage comprehensive control enhancement programs across various risk domains within the Second Line of Defense (2LOD).
  • Provide essential compliance oversight, coordination and support for global geographic expansion projects to ensure safe market entry.
  • Translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable requirements for implementation.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Stripe's existing controls to identify opportunities to implement efficient workflows to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Establish Program Key Performance Indicators to measure the effectiveness and health of regulatory programs, proactively address program risk and issues as they arise.
  • Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the regulatory change framework and operating model for the FinCRO PMO.
  • Support the strategic expansion of FinCRO PMO by leveraging best practices and standards established by the EMEA program.
  • Proactively manage project initiatives and present detailed progress updates to FinCRO senior leadership.
  • Partner closely with Product & Business, Operations, Risk & Compliance, and Affiliates teams to strengthen oversight and ensure robust controls are in place.
  • Develop and manage scalable processes that enable the team to execute with high velocity and clarity.

Who you are

Minimum Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in risk and compliance domains (e.g. regulatory program delivery) in financial services or fintech companies.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex cross-company projects and scalable program maintenance in a regulated environment.
  • Risk management experience navigating complex challenges and requirements.
  • Strong program management experience including demonstrated ability to build new programs from the ground up.
  • Self starter who has the ability to work autonomously and experience working in a fast paced global organization.
  • Exceptional cross functional stakeholder management with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence without authority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of compliance and regulatory obligations, including PSD2 or evolving global AML / KYC regulations.
  • Experience working within regulated financial services entities, including direct engagement with regulatory functions, Boards or Regulators.
  • Highly inquisitive, innovative and demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders effectively.
  • Ability to quickly understand complex problems and exercise sound judgement to find well-balanced solutions.
  • Experience in organisational change management to help teams adopt new processes and controls.
  • Ability to tackle ambiguous situations and operate efficiently and independently in fast-paced, high-volume and technology-driven environments.

Hybrid work at Stripe

This role is available either in an office or a remote location (35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).

In-office expectations

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

Working remotely at Stripe

A remote location is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently live or plan to live.

Pay and benefits

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is €100,000 - €150,000. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Specific benefits and details about what compensation is included in the salary range listed above will vary depending on the applicant’s location and can be discussed in more detail during the interview process. Benefits/additional compensation for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; retirement plans; health benefits; and wellness stipends.
