What You'll Do as a Billing Account Executive

As a Billing Account Executive at Stripe, you will leverage your sales and product expertise to drive growth with both existing and new Stripe customers. You will work closely with core sales, marketing, product marketing, and product teams to gain deep product and industry knowledge, enabling you to lead strategic deals. Your role will involve conducting in-depth product discussions with customers and prospects, and actively building and executing against our go-to-market strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue to achieve and over-perform on targets and KPIs.
  • Lead new sales and upsell conversations for Stripe's billing solutions with existing and prospective customers.
  • Drive strategic thought leadership within your assigned territory to ensure user success and revenue growth.
  • Deeply understand Stripe's sales process and competitive landscape, including software, hardware, and payments.
  • Serve as both an internal and customer-facing expert on Stripe, with a specialization in billing products.
  • Synthesize and relay customer feedback and findings to inform Stripe’s product roadmap.
  • Engage with Product, Marketing, and User Operations teams to amplify our growth trajectory.

Who You Are

You are an adept salesperson capable of engaging in both business-level and technical conversations with various organizational levels, including CEO, CFO, and CTO. You are skilled at building value in competitive scenarios and enjoy working with products that demand deep product and technical understanding. You are comfortable collaborating with clients and internal stakeholders, including executives, and are eager to become and share your expertise. As an organized self-starter, you possess excellent communication skills, are highly analytical, and have a track record of improving processes and organizations.

Minimum Requirements

  • 8+ years of sales or prospecting experience at a technology company with a consistent track record of top performance.
  • Proven experience owning a direct sales quota, including closing new business and expanding existing user accounts.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships with business partners.
  • Ability to effectively navigate ambiguity and thrive in an unstructured, fast-moving environment.
  • A self-starter capable of driving business results without extensive supervision.
  • An enthusiastic “roll up your sleeves” mentality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills, particularly for in-person meetings with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead complex negotiations involving bespoke commercial agreements.
  • Ability to understand complex technical requirements and craft solutions across multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience specifically selling financial services or similar software.
  • Experience in selling billing solutions.
  • Proven ability to sell effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment and Location

This role is available either in an office or a remote location (35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office). Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in their local office or with users. Remote employees regularly work from home. Stripe does not cover relocation costs, so applicants should apply for roles matching their current or planned living location.

Pay and Benefits

The annual US On Target Earnings (OTE) range for this role is $310,100 - $465,100, which includes both sales commissions/bonuses and annual base salary. The exact salary will be determined during the interview process based on experience, qualifications, and location. Additional benefits may include equity, company bonus, 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision benefits, and wellness stipends.
