About The Internal Identity Team

The Internal Identity Team is responsible for securing user access across Stripe. They build robust, reliable, and secure identity and access management systems while ensuring a seamless user experience for all Stripes.

What You’ll Do

As a Backend Engineer on the Internal Identity team, you will focus on building and optimizing core infrastructure for access management systems. Your role combines rigorous security with a user-friendly experience. Responsibilities include:

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining backend systems for access management.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to automate access and governance workflows.
  • Developing data models for fine-grained access control and configuration management.
  • Engaging in end-to-end solution ownership and stakeholder communication.
  • Enhancing engineering standards, tooling, and processes across teams.

Who You Are

You possess a strong background in backend development with 5+ years of experience, proficiency in Go and RESTful APIs, familiarity with AWS and cloud services, and experience in site reliability and performance optimization. A collaborative mindset and strong problem-solving skills are a must.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in security or identity and access management is a bonus. A passion for actionable security solutions and automated governance will set you apart.

Hybrid Work at Stripe

This role can be performed in-office or remotely (if located 35+ miles from a Stripe office). Office-assigned Stripes are expected to spend at least 50% of their time in their local office. Remote workers are encouraged to work from their home location while attending team meetings as necessary. Stripe does not cover relocation costs.

Pay and Benefits

The annual US base salary range for this role is $170,400 - $255,700. Additional benefits include equity, bonuses, 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision benefits, and wellness stipends.
