Head Waiter, Banquet
At Clarion Hotel Helsinki Airport, we’re redefining premium hospitality with urban sophistication, high standards, and an atmosphere that’s both vibrant and welcoming. We’re looking for a Head Waiter who knows that every unforgettable visit begins with a great first impression and carries through every interaction. As a part of our Meetings & Events team, you will excel in customer service, have a passion for food, and create unforgettable experiences for our guests. We are seeking a passionate and talented person to join our dynamic team.
Our hotel is located with direct indoor access to the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport terminal and the train station. Clarion Hotel Helsinki Airport boasts 505 rooms, extensive meeting facilities, a rooftop restaurant, and a spa. Our congress center can accommodate events ranging from intimate meetings to gatherings of up to 1000 participants, with meeting spaces on four floors, from the top floor view to the welcoming and spacious basement floor.

What you'll be doing:
- Creating together with the team an unforgettable overall experience for Conference and Banquet guests.
- Leading and distributing work and scheduling within the department in consultation with the immediate manager.
- Training, mentoring, and motivating staff to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Overseeing and leading day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth service.
- Managing reservations and special guest requests in collaboration with our Meeting Planners.
- Collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure seamless communication and timely delivery of orders.
- Assisting in handling customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner.
- Maintaining the highest standards of service and customer experience.
- Constantly working for increased profitability and quality, reaching set departmental goals, and being a role model in driving additional sales.
- Developing departmental routines together with the immediate manager and the team.
- Being hands-on in daily operations, supporting the team.
- Ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
Is this you?
- 5 years of supervisory experience within large-scale events and the dynamic hospitality industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage and inspire a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- A genuine passion for delivering high-quality customer service.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do approach.
- A knack for turning challenges into opportunities, adept at managing multiple tasks, and consistently maintaining high standards, even when things get tough.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Fluency in English is required, and professional Finnish language skills are a significant plus.
