The Role
The Hardware R&D Digital Designer Intern will be instrumental in the design and development of a Distributed Power Controller based on the RISC-V architecture. This role aims to optimize the energy management of Power Islands within complex embedded systems. You will collaborate closely with the Hardware and Firmware Development Team to:
- Analyze and study existing power management architectures.
- Contribute to defining the functionalities and interfaces of the power controller.
- Support hardware modeling and firmware development for RISC-V microcontrollers.
- Participate actively in simulation, verification, and benchmarking activities.
Required Skills and Experience
To excel in this Hardware R&D Digital Designer Intern role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
Education
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated with a degree in Electronic Engineering.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong fundamentals in microcontroller architecture, with a preference for RISC-V knowledge.
- Understanding of power management concepts in embedded systems, including clock and reset management.
- Basic familiarity with ARM architectures and their interoperability standards.
- Experience with hardware description languages (VHDL, Verilog) and/or hardware modeling is a significant plus.
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming for firmware development.
Soft Skills
- A keen problem-solving attitude and strong analytical capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- High degree of autonomy and proactivity in self-study and experimentation.
- Excellent communication skills for documenting progress and presenting results.
- Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
