About the Accounting Clerk Role

Stingray Direct is a direct-to-consumer, large-scale performance-based e-commerce company. We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic e-commerce team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, supporting day-to-day accounting activities, and contributing to the smooth financial operation of our growing online business.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Processing:

• Enter and reconcile sales transactions from multiple platforms (Shopify, Amazon, PayPal).
• Process accounts payable and receivable accurately and timely.
• Verify and reconcile third-party payment processors including Braintree, PayPal, and Shopify.

Inventory and Cost Accounting Support:

• Assist in tracking COGS and reconcile inventory purchases.
• Coordinate with operations or warehouse teams for invoice matching.

Bank and Platform Reconciliation:

• Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, merchant accounts, and platform payouts.
• Investigate discrepancies in payment settlements and refunds.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Support month-end closing activities with transaction reports.
• Maintain organized digital records of invoices, receipts, and documents.
• Assist in generating basic sales tax reports for various jurisdictions.

Audit and Compliance Support:

• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
• Ensure adherence to financial controls and e-commerce accounting best practices.

Capabilities & Skills Required

• Associate’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1-2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping; e-commerce experience preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Excel.
• Experience with e-commerce platforms and payment gateways is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with inventory management systems.
• Understanding of sales tax obligations for multi-state/international operations.
• Experience collaborating across departments (e.g., customer service, operations).

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual Salary: $69,000 - $74,000, based on experience.
