About the Role
The Research Associate II Aerospace & Defense at Stifel Financial Corp is responsible for providing data gathering, analysis, financial modeling, and organizational support to senior research analysts in the Aerospace & Defense team.
What You'll Be Doing
You will master foundational associate level skills and take on increased writing and modeling responsibilities. This role involves:
- Building and maintaining Excel-based financial models including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and discounted cash flow analysis.
- Formulating mathematical or simulation models to solve operational problems.
- Analyzing management information to define operational issues.
- Validating and testing financial models and updating comp sheets.
- Managing databases and electronic data services such as Bloomberg and FactSet.
- Defending the investment thesis and outlook for stocks under coverage.
- Responding to questions from institutional sales and clients.
- Developing written research products with modest direction.
- Meeting special project demands and building industry knowledge.
- Handling a small client contact list and occasional travel up to 20%.
What We're Looking For
Applicants should possess skills in inductive reasoning, critical thinking, judgment and decision making, time management, and effective oral and written communication. A strong grasp of economic, accounting, and financial principles is essential.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree with 2 to 4 years of relevant industry experience or proven experience at the Associate I level.
Systems & Technology
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary ranges from USD 100,000.00 to USD 150,000.00 per year, with additional benefits including bonuses, health/dental/vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, tuition assistance, paid time off, and more.
