Litigation Legal Assistant Position
Stieber Berlach LLP is actively seeking a full-time Litigation Legal Assistant with a minimum of 3 years' experience to join our friendly team. This role supports three lawyers within our insurance defence practice, requiring strong communication and technical skills to deliver exceptional administrative support in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication abilities, and the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the overall management of insurance litigation practices.
- Schedule examinations for discovery, mediations, pre-trials, and court-mandated conferences.
- Liaise professionally and diplomatically with clients and opposing counsel.
- Organize and maintain litigation files, including e-filing and arranging service of documents.
- Assist with the preparation of accounts and other administrative duties.
- Prepare and draft various documentation, including electronic assembly of pleadings, affidavits of documents, motion materials, and pre-trial memoranda.
- Utilize legal software to draft correspondences and cover/service letters, ensuring timely document delivery.
- Coordinate online filing of court documents such as pleadings, motion materials, application materials, pre-trial and trial documents, notices, requisitions, and affidavits.
- Prepare court documents for hearings by formatting, bookmarking, hyperlinking, and uploading to CaseLines.
- Arrange for court reporting services, mediation, translation, interpretation services, transportation, investigation services, and court transcription services.
- Perform administrative duties including typing, editing, formatting, proofreading, filing, printing, saving documents, photocopying, handling mail, maintaining contacts and calendars, entering/revising dockets, and coordinating meetings.

Qualifications
- Completion of post-secondary Legal Assistant program from an accredited institution.
- In-depth knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and court practice/procedures at various levels.
- Solid computer skills and proficiency with applications including Outlook, Microsoft 365, MS Office, iManage, and PC Law.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills at a professional level.
Compensation and Benefits
