General Summary
The Product Development Associate is responsible for all division samples and product development initiation and follow up with overseas agents. This role supports the wholesale footwear business at Steve Madden.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain all production spec sheets with overseas agents.
- Approve all incoming submits for fabric, color and trims.
- Manage all sample procedures for the division.
- Correct incoming sales, confirmation, and fit samples; communicate changes to overseas agents.
- Update and maintain division Line sheets.
- Ship samples overseas.
- Sourcing.
- Address production issues to reach target prices, margins and deliveries.
- Maintain photo library.
- Set up production.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

- Conduct interpersonal interactions including coaching, negotiating, and presenting.
- Make decisions based on precedents and applicable laws.
- Handle confidential and/or sensitive information with discretion.
- Conceptualize, plan, and implement diverse job duties.
- Work efficiently in a multi-task, high pressure environment.
- Anticipate and solve problems independently.
- Provide basic work direction and support to small groups.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 2-4 years of industry experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Compensation & Benefits
The base salary for this position ranges from $28.85/hr to $30.00/hr, based on skillset, training, experience, and education.
