Role Overview

The Staff Software Engineer I – Artificial Intelligence is responsible for architecting, implementing, and scaling advanced AI systems. This role shapes the technical direction of Appcaste2s AI products and serves as a trusted advisor across engineering teams.

Job Responsibilities

• Architect and Build AI-Driven Solutions: Design, prototype, and deploy scalable generative AI and ML systems.
• Advance Technical Vision: Establish and evolve the technical foundation for Appcaste20s AI strategy.
• Guide Best Practices: Lead AI/ML engineering patterns, MLOps pipelines, and responsible AI practices through code reviews and design discussions.
• Drive Innovation: Leverage AWS AI/ML tooling (SageMaker, Bedrock, Lambda, Step Functions) for reliable AI workflows.
• Collaborate & Mentor: Work cross-functionally with data scientists, ML engineers, and product managers; mentor peers through technical insights.
• Evaluate Emerging Technologies: Stay updated on LLMs, embeddings, RAG, vector databases, and prompt engineering.
• Ensure Quality: Oversee model testing, evaluation protocols, bias detection, and documentation.

Qualifications

A strong background in software engineering with a focus on AI/ML production systems is required. Candidates should possess deep expertise in generative AI, AWS AI/ML services, and modern MLOps practices, with excellent communication skills and a proven track record in mentoring engineering teams.
