Job Overview: QA Automation Engineer at Mobilisights

We are actively seeking a dedicated QA Automation Engineer to play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of our data platform. This position involves designing and implementing tests, debugging, defining corrective actions, reviewing system requirements, and tracking quality assurance metrics. A key responsibility will be conducting thorough tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly, meets client needs, and remains cost-effective. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both software development and quality assurance, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

Core Responsibilities

  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
  • Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities.
  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts.
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs.
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
  • Work with product teams to develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products, meeting client needs.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and identify system requirements.
  • Monitor debugging process results.
  • Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions.
  • Track quality assurance metrics, such as defect densities and open defect counts.
  • Stay up to date with new testing tools and test strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject.
  • 8-10 years of experience in quality assurance, with a strong emphasis on front-end, back-end APIs, and infrastructure across all software development life cycle environments.
  • Proven experience with AWS.
  • Mandatory experience in Python and Javascript, including code reviews and analyzers.
  • Extensive Web API experience and knowledge of architectural styles (e.g., REST).
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies and processes.
  • Experience with CI/CD and platforms (e.g., Jenkins, Gitlabs).
  • Experience with configuration management systems (e.g., svn, git).
  • Proficiency with Linux and Linux-based test applications and utilities (e.g., curl, netcat).
  • Experience with secure network protocols (e.g., TLS, openssl).
  • Experience with web application servers and containers (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Familiarity with automation frameworks and platforms (e.g., Selenium, Appium).
  • Demonstrated ability in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Experience with database technologies and scripting (e.g., relational, MongoDB, Python, Javascript).
  • Experience with test frameworks like PyTest.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing.
  • Familiarity with pentesting platforms and frameworks (e.g., Kali, Blackbox).
  • Proven work experience in software development.
