Overview
The Design Systems Engineer - Engines at Stellantis is responsible for coordinating the technical aspects of base engine design to meet customer requirements, functional objectives, and quality targets. The role covers base engine design and validation.
Responsibilities
Key duties include:
- Execute and ensure compliance with the Stellantis Propulsion System Development Process (PDSP) for an assigned engine program.
- Approve technical decisions including timing plans, change notifications, bulletins, engine build books, and service manuals.
- Approve and execute comprehensive engine mechanical development and validation plans.
- Act as the main contact for engine related issues on assigned projects.
- Lead global cross functional teams in root cause analysis and solution implementation.
- Guide Release Engineers and designers towards achieving program objectives regarding assemblies, components and sub-assemblies.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives and perform supplier resourcing risk assessments.
- Ensure all project commitments are met.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field.
- Minimum eight years of propulsion system related engineering and/or calibration experience.
- Understanding of phased gated launch processes in product development.
- Ability to effectively communicate and prepare presentations for executive leadership.
- Strong cross functional team management with excellent written and oral skills.
- Highly motivated, self-directed, and capable of managing multiple complex assignments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Engineering.
