Job Overview
Stellantis is seeking a skilled and motivated Automotive Engineer to join the Electric Drive Module (EDM) team. The role focuses on managing the release of components and systems within the EDM.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and release process for EDM components including documentation, change management, and milestone tracking.
- Conduct design reviews to ensure proper component packaging internally and externally.
- Coordinate with CAE groups to meet functional objectives aligned with real-world results.
- Support concept and pre-production builds for testing and evaluation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, manufacturing, quality) for timely design releases.
- Interface with suppliers and internal stakeholders to manage part specifications, drawings, and validation plans.
- Utilize knowledge of integrated circuits and electronic components to support design decisions and issue resolution.
- Develop and maintain release documentation such as BOMs, design records, and engineering change notices.
- Participate in design reviews to provide technical input ensuring manufacturable and serviceable designs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with engineering processes and tools including BOMs, DVP&R, DFMEAs, 8Ds, PDCA, CAD models, 2D drawings, GD&T, design for assembly and service.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as turning, stamping, casting, bending, laser cutting, etc.
- Knowledge of integrated circuits, electronic components, and system-level design.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with keen attention to detail.
- Experience with release systems and documentation tools (Teamcenter).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- 3 or more years of previous release experience.
- Familiarity with electric drive systems and power electronics.
- Detailed experience with circuit design.
- Coding experience in Python, C++, or similar languages.
- Exposure to MATLAB/Simulink or other modeling tools.
