Role Overview

The Senior Backend Engineer Node.js Python will join our core engineering team in Argentina. You will work directly with the founder and a fellow backend engineer to design, build, and scale backend systems powering our platform. This role is senior enough to lead major projects while thriving in a fast-paced startup environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems using Node.js (NestJS) and Python microservices.
  • Architect and implement APIs, background services, and integrations.
  • Deploy, monitor, and scale systems using AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3, CloudWatch).
  • Manage MongoDB Atlas for high-volume data models.
  • Collaborate with frontend, product, and ops teams to ship features fast and reliably.
  • Optimize performance, improve reliability, and ensure high code quality.
  • Contribute to technical decisions and influence product direction.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of backend engineering experience.
  • Strong experience with Node.js (NestJS or Express).
  • Proficiency with Python for automation or data processing.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and MongoDB.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Comfortable in a lean, fast-paced startup environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with API integrations, data pipelines, or fintech/logistics systems.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or serverless frameworks.
  • Previous experience in a remote or early-stage U.S. startup.
