About the Role

Stealth Startup is a fast-growing company creating innovative consumer products for an active, modern lifestyle. As a Part-Time Industrial Designer, you will help shape the visual language and design identity of current and future products through effective collaboration with engineering, marketing, and product teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead industrial design of physical fitness products from concept to production.
  • Design for form, ergonomics, materials, and finishes with a clear user focus.
  • Translate user insights and brand strategy into compelling product designs.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers and prototyping teams to ensure design feasibility and DFM.
  • Produce high-quality 2D sketches, 3D CAD models (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360), and renderings (e.g., KeyShot, V-Ray).
  • Iterate designs based on user testing, feedback, and engineering constraints.
  • Define and evolve our visual brand language.
  • Work with manufacturing partners to produce high fidelity designs.

What We’re Looking For

This role is ideal for a freelance contractor with 5+ years of experience in industrial design for consumer products (especially fitness, sporting goods, wearables). A strong portfolio demonstrating production-ready designs with advanced mechanical systems and premium CMF is required. Proficiency in CAD, rendering, and prototyping is essential, alongside a deep understanding of human-centered design and ergonomic principles.
