Job Overview

The QA Engineer Assistant Manager at State Street is responsible for both functional and automated testing of software systems within enterprise and cloud infrastructures. This role involves working as a member of a Front Office Trading team and executing the overall quality plan for scrum-managed components.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Scrum Master, Product Owner, developers, and business analysts.
  • Create comprehensive test plans and reusable test cases from business requirements.
  • Execute manual and automated functional, integration, regression, and performance tests.
  • Maintain libraries for automated and manual test scripts.
  • Document software defects and proactively communicate issues to team members.
  • Participate in requirements and specification reviews in an Agile environment.
  • Adhere to testing schedules ensuring efficient product delivery.
  • Work independently on small tasks under supervisory direction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field; MS degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of professional software testing experience in enterprise and cloud native infrastructures.
  • At least 2 years of automated testing experience with tools like Selenium, Cucumber, TestNG, Silk test, SVN, Gradle, Jenkins.
  • 3+ years of Agile development and iterative delivery experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Additional familiarity with XML, VBScript, Powershell and Macros is a plus.
  • Experience with client/server and web-based applications, troubleshooting, and clear communication with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Financial securities and trading principles knowledge is beneficial.
