Who We Are Looking For
State Street (STT) is seeking an experienced media and public relations professional to join its Global Public Relations team as Public Relations - Asia Pacific, Assistant Vice President. This role specializes in media relations, requiring a driven individual ready to advance their career. The ideal candidate will possess solid relationships with top-tier business and financial trade publications across Asia Pacific, with proven experience in proactively pitching complex stories and managing reputational issues. You must thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing global environment, demonstrating a 'client-service' approach for internal stakeholders. The position demands an outcome-driven professional skilled at producing reports and analysis to showcase achieved results and objectives. Strong writing and editing skills are essential, alongside expertise in developing media-engaging social/digital content. Organizational skills and high attention to detail are also critical.
Based in Asia Pacific (Australia preferred), this Public Relations - Asia Pacific, Assistant Vice President role focuses on developing and executing global PR strategy for State Street across the region. You will work closely with regional and global PR teams, business marketing functions, State Street Asia Pacific leadership, and PR agencies daily to identify and leverage media opportunities for key spokespeople, ensuring adherence to all necessary processes and policies.

What You Will Be Responsible For
- Collaborate with internal global PR teams, global marketing, and external PR agencies to create, refine, and deliver differentiated media-driven activity supporting the firm’s corporate PR strategy and State Street’s business units’ objectives, including State Street Global Advisors.
- Develop media campaign strategies around the business’s latest thought leadership, covering topics such as asset stewardship, retirement, emerging markets, quantitative investing, and private credit.
- Develop or strengthen relationships with global, national, and regional press contacts within our day-to-day business.
- Build collaborative relationships with business stakeholders and partners to align PR strategy with business objectives.
- Independently own programs and campaigns from concept through to execution.
- Compose and edit content including press releases, bylines, talking points, media briefings, and social and digital media.
- Support media interactions of business stakeholders at industry conferences.

- Minimum 5-7 years of direct experience in communications, media relations, and/or public relations fields.
- Track record of successfully developing relationships with journalists and tier 1 media outlets (print, broadcast, and online).
- Ideal candidate will also have experience in banking, financial services, and asset management industries with strong relationships with relevant journalists covering the industry.
- In-house or previous agency experience.
- Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with executive PR and media relations programs.
- Ability to create and manage integrated PR/marketing plans and timelines.
- Command of traditional, digital, social, and integrated marketing tactics.
- A consummate team player with a can-do attitude.
