Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking an Integrated Audit Data Analyst, Officer to join our Corporate Audit Team. This role involves playing a data specialist part in dynamic, cross-functional teams responsible for executing internal audits across State Street’s business lines. You will support audit engagements by leveraging data analytics under the direction of an audit project lead. This position requires a blend of audit skills and data analytics understanding to assess control designs, test operational effectiveness, develop audit conclusions, and draft observations.
The Integrated Data Analyst will collaborate with the Data Analytics team and business audit teams to design data-driven test approaches and analyze results to identify potential control weaknesses. Additionally, you will contribute to onboarding and coaching junior staff and support departmental initiatives.

What You Will Be Responsible For
- Leverage data analytics skills to perform audit work in line with risk-based methodology and Institute of Internal Auditor’s standards to identify and understand risk; determine control objectives; and evaluate control effectiveness through data analysis.
- Serve as a liaison between the Business Audit Team and the Data Analytics Team to ensure mutual understanding of business processes and data analytics capabilities, driving improved outcomes and establishing repeatable data analytics/continuous auditing use cases.
- Obtain and analyze evidentiary data to draft informed and objective opinions on the adequacy and effectiveness of controls under review, designing enhanced analytics approaches in partnership with central and business audit teams.
- Draft audit issues clearly outlining the identified issue and root cause, using data analysis to support conclusions and inferences regarding risk.
- Review corrective actions taken by management to improve deficient conditions.
- Escalate potential issues and obstacles to audit management with proposed solutions.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of State Street products, processes, industry and regulatory topics, and data analytics best practices.
- Understand State Street data constructs, systems, and processes to enhance data analytics-based auditing.
- Develop relationships with audit clients and business partners, serving as the primary audit contact for assigned areas in audit engagements.
- Contribute to change initiatives through active participation in working groups and adoption of new practices.
- Share successes and challenges with peer Integrated Data Analysts and the Data Analytics Team to improve the Data Analytics program.
- Assist in onboarding audit staff and coaching business auditors in data analytics usage.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Public Accounting, Internal Auditing, or financial services.
- Professional experience and/or a degree related to data science and analytics.
- Technical data analytics skills (SQL, Python, R, Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx, etc.).
- Expertise in AI, data science, and machine learning models is a significant plus.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, accounting, computer science, or related fields.
- Advanced degree or certification (CFA, FRM, CPA, CIA) is preferable.
- Technical expertise with Databricks is preferable.
- Experience in auditing information technology general controls.
Additional Requirements
Some domestic and international travel may be required.
