Role Summary

The Chief Risk Officer APAC and Head of Compliance for APAC & Global Delivery Compliance (CRCO) is responsible for leading and overseeing enterprise risk and corporate compliance in the APAC region and globally for Global Delivery Compliance functions. The role implements the enterprise risk management framework and compliance risk management program within APAC, ensuring effective identification, measurement, control and management of risks at State Street.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and execute the enterprise risk and compliance frameworks.
  • Identify, assess and manage financial and non-financial risks across APAC.
  • Develop and review risk governance frameworks and risk appetite strategies.
  • Collaborate with global peers and regulatory authorities to maintain compliance.
  • Lead a multi-jurisdictional team and manage planning and budgets.

Compliance Oversight

Oversee regulatory compliance related to financial risks (credit, interest rate, liquidity, trading) and non-financial risks (compliance, model, operational, technology, resiliency, data, third party). Provide guidance to internal committees and ensure regulatory obligations are met.

Collaboration & Reporting

Maintain effective relationships with regulators, local senior management and other corporate functions including Legal, Corporate Audit and risk colleagues. Report on risk profiles, escalate issues and manage breach responses effectively.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 20 years’ related experience with at least 15 years in banking risk and compliance.
  • Deep knowledge of APAC and US regulations and risk management principles.
  • Experience in digital technology systems, IT infrastructure and cyber threats.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • A Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
