Auditor I - State of Oklahoma

The Oklahoma State Auditor and Inspector's Office is recruiting for the Auditor I position to promote accountability and fiscal integrity in state and local government.

Responsibilities

Utilize accounting and auditing skills to audit county governments. Commute daily to the district office or audit site; some overnight travel may be required. Perform financial, operational, and federal compliance audits by:

  • Conducting interviews with client personnel
  • Evaluating internal controls
  • Determining compliance with laws and regulations
  • Assessing operational procedures
  • Performing specific audit procedures
  • Preparing audit working papers for final report

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting, education, or business-related field or two years of experience in accounting or audit environments. Knowledge in GAAP, GAGAS, and Government Auditing Standards is required. Investigatory experience is a plus.

Additional Skills

Strong verbal and written communication, teamwork ability, proficiency in Excel, Word, and CAATS, and a valid driver's license. Critical thinking, effective time management, and an interest in professional development are valued.

Salary and Benefits

Entry level salary in the range of $48,000 - $52,000 commensurate with experience and education. Benefits include:
