About the Role
The State of Georgia is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Web Accessibility Coordinator to ensure that all digital services, websites, applications, and electronic communications provided by state agencies are fully accessible to all residents, including individuals with disabilities. This critical position serves as the state's subject matter expert on digital accessibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and guide comprehensive compliance strategies for digital accessibility across all state agencies.
- Implement robust training programs to educate state employees on accessibility best practices and guidelines.
- Formulate and execute policy implementation aligned with key regulations and standards.
- Ensure adherence to Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to various state entities on accessibility matters.
