Job Overview

The IT Infrastructure Analyst at State of Arkansas is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the technology infrastructure to ensure reliability, scalability, and efficiency. The role involves managing servers, networks, storage systems, and providing technical support to minimize downtime.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure including servers, networks, and storage systems.
  • Monitor system performance ensuring uptime and optimal operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Recommend infrastructure upgrades to support growth and efficiency.
  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect against cyber threats.
  • Document configurations, procedures, and changes accurately.
  • Support disaster recovery and backup strategies.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and other personnel on projects.
  • Research emerging technologies for potential infrastructure improvements.
  • Provide support and training to end-users and junior IT staff.

Specific Requirements & Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2012 - 2022.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy management.
  • Familiarity with Hypervisor platforms like VMWare and Hyper-V.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM).
  • Understanding of network design, deployment and troubleshooting (Routing, Switching, VLAN, DHCP, DNS, VoIP, Wireless).
  • General firewall troubleshooting and cyber security concepts.
  • Willingness to perform technical training with customers.

Location & Travel

This position is physically located in the Northeast part of Arkansas (Walnut Ridge, Jonesboro, or surrounding areas). The candidate must be able to travel to assigned schools within a 90-minute drive.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in IT infrastructure or related roles.
  • Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Expertise in managing enterprise-level networks, servers, and storage systems.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Server+, or Network+ are preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
