Overview

The IT Division Manager at the State of Arizona, Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions leads the agency’s Information Technology Services. This role coordinates with executives and division heads to align technology initiatives with strategic and operational goals, ensuring compliance with state technology laws and safeguarding agency assets.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct the Technology Services Section including project oversight, staff supervision, recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee application design, software development, system analysis, database administration, and data analysis.
  • Coordinate projects and work with agency staff, statewide IT teams, and Homeland Security teams.
  • Develop, update, and enforce IT policies and procedures, while reviewing and approving technology purchase requests.
  • Liaise with external technology service providers and consult on complex technology issues.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Candidates should have in-depth knowledge of IT concepts, state statutes, quality and change management. Strong managerial, conflict resolution, analytical, and technical writing skills are essential. A background in application development, database administration, and systems analysis is required.

Selective Preferences & Pre-Employment

Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred) with 7+ years of progressive IT management experience. Preferred certifications include relevant cloud/database credentials. All new hires must complete the E-Verify process.

Position is based in the Information Technology Division, 100 North 15th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85007. Remote work within Arizona is a possibility.
