Job Summary Description / Primary Purpose Of Job
As a part-time intern on Starkey’s Innovation Team in Tel Aviv, you will help advance hearing technology by developing, testing, and optimizing audio and speech processing algorithms using machine learning and neural networks for devices used worldwide. You will build prototypes, analyze performance, document findings, and present results in a collaborative setting. This role suits creative problem-solvers who want to make an impact through technology.
Job Responsibilities/Results
- Support the development, implementation, and performance analysis of audio and speech signal processing algorithms for hearing devices, with a focus on ML and DNN-based approaches
- Testing and optimization of both traditional and ML algorithms in simulation and with real recordings
- Development of testing procedures and analysis tools for audio and speech signal processing algorithms for hearing devices
- Optimization of real-time algorithm performance under computational, latency, and hardware constraints
- Documentation of experiments, preparation of technical reports, and presentation of results
Job Requirements
Education
- Undergraduate, Master’s and/or PhD student in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field, with an acceptable GPA
- Master's and PhDs preferred
Experience
- This is an entry level position - any hands on algorithm work is an advantage
Knowledge / Technical Requirements
- Solid understanding of algorithms and signal processing, from basic to advanced levels
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, MATLAB
- Familiarity with audio and/or speech processing– an advantage
- Experience working with machine learning development environments and/or deep neural networks (ML / DNN) for audio applications – an advantage
