About the Sales Associate Role at Staples Canada
As a Sales Associate at Staples Canada, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional customer service, fostering strong customer engagement, and ultimately driving satisfaction. This role focuses on achieving sales and margin goals, particularly within the furniture, technology, and supplies categories. You will also be responsible for maintaining operational excellence and upholding the high brand standards of the store.
You will play a key role in supporting all merchandising and signage initiatives, including implementing planograms and ensuring products are well-stocked. Adherence to Health & Safety, Asset Protection, and Privacy Policies is also a critical aspect of the position.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage proactively with all customers, offering tailored products and services utilizing available selling tools and techniques to anticipate and fulfill their future needs.
- Execute transactions efficiently using the Point of Sale (POS) system, including processing shipping transactions and leveraging marketing tools to convert customer interest into sales.
- Skillfully de-escalate and assist in complex customer situations, ensuring concerns are effectively addressed, or escalating to a manager/supervisor when necessary.
- Contribute to a clean and safe store environment by performing regular tasks such as dusting, front-facing products, and ensuring all demo units are clean and fully functional.
Qualifications
Staples Canada is looking for candidates who possess:
- 3 months to 1 year of prior retail experience (preferred).
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- A proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
