Project Manager
Stantec is seeking a Project Manager to lead and manage multidisciplinary project teams for building projects across our Waterloo, Markham, and Ottawa offices. The role involves providing leadership to clients, design teams, and construction managers/contractors to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meeting defined scope parameters.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to the project management team.
- Lead projects from inception through commissioning, handover, and warranty management.
- Negotiate project scope and performance indicators with clients.
- Prepare and manage terms of reference for sub-consultants.
- Oversee contractor procurement including post-proposal interviews and recommendations.
- Select and organize project teams.
- Generate and maintain project planning documentation such as schedules, budgets, cost controls, and work breakdown structures.
- Establish communication plans and authority levels.
- Prepare and maintain risk management and change management plans.
- Manage document control ensuring traceability between scope and final product.
- Coordinate preparation of construction tender documents and advise on contractual forms.
- Chair project and site meetings and resolve disputes as necessary.
- Manage change requests, notices, orders, and payment certificates.
- Lead, manage, and direct project staff during all phases.
- Assist in proposals, work plans, and business development efforts.
