Overview

The Manager, Operations at Standard Aero is responsible for overseeing daily production operations within the engine assembly and manufacturing division. You will ensure that safety, quality, cost, and delivery goals are met across all production lines while driving process improvements and workforce development.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership:

  • Direct daily engine/component operations including planning and scheduling.
  • Manage workflow from surface preparation to final inspection.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Program Management teams.

People Leadership:

  • Lead, coach, and develop inspectors and mechanics.
  • Champion a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Support training programs for technical expertise and career growth.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to FAA, OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards.
  • Maintain compliance with hazardous material handling and PPE requirements.
  • Partner with EHS to assess risks and prevent incidents.

Quality & Customer Focus:

  • Deliver high-quality aircraft finishes meeting customer specifications.
  • Resolve technical issues with corrective actions in collaboration with partners.
  • Act as a customer-facing leader when required.

Financial & Continuous Improvement:

  • Manage departmental budgets and labor efficiency.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste and cycle time.
  • Support operational excellence initiatives through Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement.

Position Requirements

Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing operations, with proven leadership in high-compliance environments. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma is a plus. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are a must. A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
