Buyer – Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO)

We are seeking a skilled Buyer – Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) to manage the sourcing and procurement of MRO materials, office supplies and outside processing services to support production, facilities and overall business operations.

Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000/yr

Location: North of Tulsa, OK Area

Job Type: Direct Hire

Position Overview

The role involves handling negotiations, supplier management and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements while driving operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, negotiate, and procure MRO goods and services including tools, machine parts, PPE, consumables, safety equipment, janitorial items and office supplies.
  • Manage purchasing and coordination of outside processing orders such as heat treating, plating, NDT, welding, machining, or subcontracted services.
  • Ensure proper traceability, documentation, and turnaround timelines for OPOs with production, quality and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, production, facilities, quality and administrative teams to define requirements and support operations.
  • Maintain accurate records in ERP/MRP systems (Quantum, SAP, Oracle) and monitor inventory to reduce stockouts and excess.
  • Coordinate deliveries and expedite critical items to meet maintenance schedules and production timelines.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies, manage returns and support Accounts Payable for timely payments.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA, AS9100, ISO, and company purchasing requirements.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities, supplier consolidation and process improvements.

Qualifications

Education & Experience: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or related field preferred. 3+ years in purchasing MRO, office supplies and outside processing (aerospace/manufacturing preferred). Experience in FAA repair station environments or regulated industries is a plus.

Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of MRO categories, indirect spend and subcontracted processes. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Proven negotiation and supplier management abilities. Detail-oriented with emphasis on traceability, compliance and cost control. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and standard office software.
